Every gas appliance installation or service is different. The existing gas supply, pipe sizing, appliance gas consumption, connection location, ventilation, clearances, condition of the appliance and manufacturer’s requirements may all need to be considered before work is completed.
For installations, send us the appliance model number and photos of the installation area so we can advise what is likely to be required before your booking.
For servicing or repairs, send us the appliance model number along with a brief description of the fault or issue.

How our gas appliance installation works1. Appliance and installation details
We obtain the appliance brand, model number, gas type and installation address. Photos of the existing appliance, gas connection, cabinetry and installation area may also be requested.
2. Site and gas-supply assessment
The existing gas supply, pipework, regulator, appliance connection and isolation valve are inspected. Where an additional appliance is being installed, the available gas supply is assessed against the appliance demand.
3. Existing appliance disconnection
Where applicable, the existing appliance is safely isolated and disconnected. Removal and disposal can be included where agreed before commencement.
4. Installation preparation
The appliance location, connection point and accessible installation clearances are checked. Required gas fitting alterations are completed within the agreed scope.
5. Appliance installation
The new appliance is positioned and connected in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions and the requirements applicable to the installation.
6. Pressure and leak testing
The affected gas system and new connections are tested to verify gas-tightness and ensure no unacceptable pressure loss is present.
7. Appliance commissioning
The appliance is operated and checked for correct ignition, flame stability, burner operation and safety-device function.8. Compliance documentation
Following successful installation and testing, the applicable gas compliance documentation is completed and supplied.
9. Completion

Appliances we commonly install, service & repair:Gas cooktops
We install, replace, service and repair gas cooktops in residential kitchens throughout the Sunshine Coast.
Installation work can include disconnection and removal of the existing appliance, connection of the replacement cooktop, installation or replacement of the appliance isolation valve, pressure testing and commissioning.
We also provide gas cooktop fault finding, servicing and repairs, including ignition issues, flame-failure faults, thermocouple problems and general operating faults.
Before a replacement installation, we recommend confirming that the new appliance dimensions and manufacturer’s cut-out requirements suit the existing benchtop opening.Gas ovens and freestanding cookers
We install and connect approved gas ovens and freestanding cookers, including replacement appliances and new installations.
The existing gas connection, appliance location, clearances and power requirements will be assessed before installation. Alterations to the gas pipework or isolation valve can be completed where required and included in the agreed scope.

We connect, install, service and repair approved gas heaters and fireplaces throughout the Sunshine Coast.
For new installations and replacements, the appliance and proposed location will be assessed to confirm the installation is suitable. Requirements may include appropriate flueing, ventilation, gas-supply upgrades and electrical work.
We also provide fault finding and servicing for existing gas heaters and fireplaces, including ignition faults, pilot issues, flame-failure problems and general operating faults.
For installation work, appliance and site details should be supplied before booking so the full scope can be assessed.
Customer-supplied and existing gas appliances:
We are happy to install customer-supplied gas appliances where the appliance is approved for use in Australia and is suitable for the proposed location and gas type. We also provide servicing, fault finding and repairs for a range of existing approved gas appliances.
Before purchasing or booking an installation, please confirm:
• The appliance is approved for installation and use in Australia
• The appliance is suitable for either LPG or natural gas, as applicable
• The correct installation instructions and required components are supplied
• The appliance dimensions suit the available space
• The benchtop cut-out suits the new cooktop, where applicable
• The required electrical supply is available
• The appliance is free from transport damage
• Any manufacturer-approved conversion kit is supplied where conversion is required
For servicing or repair work, please provide the appliance make and model number along with a description of the fault where possible.
Vivid Plumbing & Gas cannot guarantee that a customer-supplied appliance will fit or be suitable until the appliance and installation area have been assessed. The availability of replacement parts for older or discontinued appliances may also affect whether a repair can be completed.
Additional work involving cabinetry, benchtop alterations, electrical work, gas-line upgrades or rectification of existing defects will be discussed before proceeding and may be quoted separately.
