Every installation is different. The existing gas supply, pipe sizing, appliance gas consumption, connection location, ventilation, clearances and manufacturer’s installation requirements must all be considered before the appliance can be connected.

Appliances we commonly install:Gas cooktops
We install new and replacement gas cooktops in residential kitchens throughout the Sunshine Coast.
The installation can include disconnection and removal of the existing appliance, connection of the replacement cooktop, installation or replacement of the appliance isolation valve, pressure testing and commissioning.
Before attendance, we recommend confirming that the new appliance dimensions and manufacturer’s cut-out requirements suit the existing benchtop opening.
Gas ovens and freestanding cookers
We install and connect approved gas ovens and freestanding cookers, including replacement appliances and new installations.
The existing gas connection, appliance location, clearances and power requirements will be assessed before installation. Alterations to the gas pipework or isolation valve can be completed where required and included in the agreed scope.
Built-in BBQs and outdoor kitchens
We provide fixed gas connections for approved built-in BBQs and outdoor kitchen appliances.
Installation may include a new gas point, isolation valve, pipework extension, appliance connection and testing. The appliance location and outdoor-kitchen design must satisfy the manufacturer’s ventilation and clearance requirements.
Gas heaters and fireplaces
We connect and commission approved gas heaters and fireplaces where the appliance and proposed installation are suitable.
The installation requirements may include appropriate flueing, ventilation, gas-supply upgrades and electrical work. Appliance and site details should be supplied before booking so the full installation scope can be assessed.

How our gas appliance installation works1. Appliance and installation details
We obtain the appliance brand, model number, gas type and installation address. Photos of the existing appliance, gas connection, cabinetry and installation area may also be requested.
2. Site and gas-supply assessment
The existing gas supply, pipework, regulator, appliance connection and isolation valve are inspected. Where an additional appliance is being installed, the available gas supply is assessed against the appliance demand.
3. Existing appliance disconnection
Where applicable, the existing appliance is safely isolated and disconnected. Removal and disposal can be included where agreed before commencement.
4. Installation preparation
The appliance location, connection point and accessible installation clearances are checked. Required gas fitting alterations are completed within the agreed scope.
5. Appliance installation
The new appliance is positioned and connected in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions and the requirements applicable to the installation.
6. Pressure and leak testing
The affected gas system and new connections are tested to verify gas-tightness and ensure no unacceptable pressure loss is present.
7. Appliance commissioning
The appliance is operated and checked for correct ignition, flame stability, burner operation and safety-device function.8. Compliance documentation
Following successful installation and testing, the applicable gas compliance documentation is completed and supplied.
9. Completion
The customer is shown the basic appliance operation, and the work area is cleaned and left tidy.Customer-supplied gas appliances:
We are happy to install customer-supplied gas appliances where the appliance is approved for installation and is suitable for the proposed location and gas type.
Before purchasing or booking an installation, please confirm:
• The appliance is approved for installation and use in Australia
• The appliance is suitable for either LPG or natural gas, as applicable
• The correct installation instructions and components are supplied
• The appliance dimensions suit the available space
• The benchtop cut-out suits the new cooktop
• The required electrical supply is available
• The appliance is free from transport damage
• Any manufacturer-approved conversion kit is supplied where conversion is required
Vivid Plumbing & Gas cannot guarantee that a customer-supplied appliance will fit or be suitable until the appliance and installation area have been assessed.
Additional work involving cabinetry, benchtop alteration, electrical installation, gas-line upgrades or rectification of existing defects will be discussed before proceeding and may be quoted separately.
